Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Framebatch.
What versions of Photoshop does Framebatch support?
Framebatch supports Photoshop 2025 and one version prior. We regularly update the application to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of Photoshop.
How do I create templates that work with Framebatch?
Framebatch automatically detects image placeholders in your templates using smart recognition. Follow our template creation guide in the Usage Guides section for detailed instructions.
Can I use Framebatch offline?
Yes, Framebatch works offline. The application only needs to verify your license every 48 hours, so you can work without an internet connection between verification checks.
How many artboards can Framebatch process at once?
While there's no hard limit, we recommend a maximum of 20 artboards for optimal performance on typical machines. Processing time is approximately 0.5-1 second per artboard.
Will Framebatch be available for Windows in the future?
Framebatch is currently only available for macOS. However, since it's built using Electron, we're exploring the possibility of Windows compatibility in future updates.
Troubleshooting
Solutions to common issues you might encounter while using Framebatch.
Photoshop doesn't launch automatically
If Photoshop doesn't launch automatically when you start Framebatch, try the following:
- Make sure Photoshop is installed in the default location
- Check that you have the correct version of Photoshop installed (2025 or one version prior)
- Restart Framebatch and your computer
- Launch Photoshop manually before starting Framebatch
- Ensure Photoshop has proper permissions to run scripts
Template validation errors
If you receive template validation errors, ensure that your PSD templates adhere to the following guidelines:
- Templates must have artboards to be processed correctly
- Image placeholders should follow the proper naming convention
- Template files should be valid PSD format, not compressed or corrupted
- Ensure the template file path doesn't contain special characters
Batch processing fails or stops unexpectedly
If the batch process fails or stops during processing:
- Ensure your image folder contains supported file formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, TIFF, BMP, WebP)
- Check that your template has the correct number of image placeholders
- Verify you have enough disk space for the operation
- Close other applications to free up system memory
- Try processing fewer artboards at once (recommended: 20 or fewer)
- Restart both Framebatch and Photoshop before trying again
License verification issues
If you're experiencing license verification problems:
- Check your internet connection (required for license verification)
- Ensure your subscription is active and not expired
- Try signing out and signing back in to your account
- Check if you've exceeded the 2-device limit for your account
- Contact support if you're still within the 48-hour offline window
Images not placing correctly
If images aren't being placed as expected in your templates:
- Verify your image placeholder layers are named correctly (image_1, image_2, etc.)
- Check that placeholder layers are visible and not locked
- Ensure your source images are high enough resolution
- Try using images with more standard aspect ratios
- Test with a simpler template to isolate the issue
Performance issues or slow processing
If Framebatch is running slowly or taking too long to process:
- Reduce the number of artboards being processed (try 10-15 instead of 20)
- Use smaller or optimized source images
- Close unnecessary applications to free up system resources
- Ensure you have at least 8GB of RAM available
- Check that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements
- Restart your Mac to clear system memory
Export issues from Photoshop
If you're having trouble exporting your finished layouts:
- Use Photoshop's "File > Export > Artboards to Files" feature
- Ensure you have write permissions to your chosen export folder
- Select appropriate file formats (PNG for transparency, JPEG for smaller files)
- Check that artboard names don't contain invalid characters
- Try exporting one artboard at a time if batch export fails
